FFENCING MANAGER
PRIVACY POLICY
Last Updated: April 6, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how The Fencing Coach LLC (“Company,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information in connection with the Fencing Manager mobile application (the “App”).
- PRIVACY-FIRST DESIGN
The App is built on a local-storage-first architecture. The App does not require account creation, does not operate Company-side user-account servers for ordinary app content, and does not serve advertisements.
Data you enter, such as fencer names, bout records, coaching notes, roster profiles, and annotations, is stored on your device and is not transmitted to the Company through ordinary App operation.
Summary:
- Company-operated user servers for ordinary app content: None
- Account requirement: None
- Advertising: None; the App is ad-free
- Third-party analytics SDKs in ordinary app use: None intended in the shipping version
- Data sold to third parties: Never
- INFORMATION YOU ENTER INTO THE APP
Depending on how you use the App, you may enter information such as:
- athlete or fencer names, club, school, team, or nationality information;
- scores, cards, penalties, timing data, results, and competition records;
- roster details, athlete attributes, and user-created notes;
- para fencing classification where applicable;
- coaching tags, analytical notes, scouting observations, and Lehfeldt Evaluation Framework (LEF) timestamps; and
- video-related annotations or metadata created within the App.
This information is stored locally on your device and is not transmitted to the Company through ordinary App operation.
You are solely responsible for the legality of collecting, entering, and storing this information and for obtaining any required consent from individuals whose information you enter.
- INFORMATION WE DO NOT INTENTIONALLY COLLECT THROUGH ORDINARY APP USE
We do not intentionally collect the following through ordinary App use:
- usernames or passwords for a Company-side App account;
- payment card numbers or billing addresses;
- advertising identifiers for Company advertising purposes; and
- ordinary user data through third-party analytics SDKs, if no such SDKs are present in the shipping version.
- PURCHASES AND SUBSCRIPTION DATA
Payments, subscription billing, renewals, cancellations, and refunds are handled by Apple through your Apple ID account.
We may receive limited information from Apple necessary to support the App and our business, such as transaction status, subscription status, and aggregate or anonymized sales metrics made available through App Store Connect or StoreKit.
We do not receive your full payment card details from Apple.
- ICLOUD SYNC
If you choose to enable iCloud sync, eligible App data may be stored in and synchronized through your personal iCloud account via Apple’s CloudKit framework.
This feature is off by default.
The Company does not control Apple’s operation of iCloud and does not access ordinary App data stored in your iCloud account.
Disabling iCloud sync stops future data transmission to iCloud. It does not automatically delete data already stored in your iCloud account; you may manage that through Apple and iOS settings.
- VIDEO AND MEDIA (COACHING MODE)
Coaching Mode allows you to import video files from your device’s photo library or file system and create time-based coaching data such as touch markers, tags, notes, strip-position data, pressure-state data, and related annotations.
Video files are processed locally on your device using Apple frameworks such as AVFoundation.
Through ordinary App use, the Company does not upload your imported video files to Company-operated servers.
Timestamp markers, LEF tags, and coaching annotations associated with video sessions are stored locally as structured metadata, not as video content.
To the extent video files or App metadata are stored in iCloud, that storage is within your Apple account, not Company infrastructure.
- EXPORTS AND SHARING
If you export or share a coaching session, report, scoresheet, CSV, or other output, the exported file may include athlete names, bout information, notes, timestamps, tags, and other content you entered.
Once you share exported content outside the App, its further use is governed by the recipient’s or destination service’s practices, not this Privacy Policy.
- AUTOMATICALLY COLLECTED INFORMATION
The App does not transmit ordinary usage analytics to Company servers during normal use.
Apple or your device may independently collect diagnostic, crash, subscription, or performance information under Apple’s systems and policies.
Aggregate, anonymized App Store metrics may be made available to us through Apple’s platforms.
- CHILDREN AND YOUTH DATA
The App is not directed to children under 13 and is intended to be used primarily by adults, including coaches, referees, parents or guardians, and club, school, or event personnel.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 on Company-operated systems through the App. To the extent youth athlete information is entered into the App, it is entered by an adult user and stored locally on that user’s device and, if enabled by that user, in that user’s personal iCloud account.
If you use the App in connection with minors, you are solely responsible for obtaining any notice, consent, or authorization required by applicable law, school policy, club policy, venue rules, or governing-body rules.
- DATA RETENTION AND DELETION
Because the App is designed as a local-first application and the Company does not maintain a user account database for ordinary App content, the Company generally cannot access, retrieve, correct, export, or delete data stored locally on your device or in your personal iCloud account.
You may manage or delete your App data by:
- using available in-app deletion features;
- deleting the App from your device, which removes locally stored App data from that device; and
- managing any iCloud-synced App data through your Apple account and device settings.
Apple may separately retain purchase, subscription, diagnostic, or transaction records in accordance with Apple’s own policies and applicable law.
- SECURITY
The App’s local-storage-first design reduces the Company’s exposure to your data. However, no device, software, storage environment, or transmission method is perfectly secure.
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your device, your Apple account, and your backups.
- THIRD-PARTY SERVICES AND LINKS
The App may rely on or link to third-party services, including Apple subscription management, iCloud, Photos, Files, and related operating-system services.
This Privacy Policy does not govern third-party services, and we are not responsible for their privacy practices.
- INTERNATIONAL USERS
The App is published from the United States. If you access the App from outside the United States, you understand that your use may involve data handled under U.S. legal frameworks, Apple’s systems, and your own device or cloud settings.
Because the Company generally does not store your ordinary App data on Company-operated systems, many rights involving access, portability, correction, and deletion are exercised primarily through your own device or Apple’s systems.
- CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will revise the “Last Updated” date above and, where feasible, provide notice within the App or on our website if we make a material change.
